Coyotes Attack Dogs in Santa Cruz
May 28, 2015
(CA) Authorities are warning Santa Cruz County residents to keep dogs and cats indoors at night after some recent coyote attacks.
Lisa Carter, director of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in Santa Cruz, was at her home on Carbonera Drive in Santa Cruz earlier this month when a rescue dog she was caring for was attacked by a coyote. It was about 6 p.m. when Twinkles, an 8-pound Yorkshire terrier and Chihuahua mix, starting yelping in pain, Carter said.
